2010 HIA CSR NSW HOUSING AWARDS

PMH Building Company P/L celebrated their success at the 2010 HIA CSR NSW Housing Awards on Saturday night.

The Mittagong company won the Custom Built Home Under $600,000 category.

Judges said, "this house in a regional town sits on a sloping site with extensive southern views and borders a bush fire area. The single level house uses materials in innovative ways to solve environmental and bush fire requirements, especially commercial Hebel flooring. The interior can be separated thermally and acoustically by glazed bi-fold doors, that also allow natural light and cross ventilation. A northern paved courtyard and southern balconies merge with internal spaces, producing a comfortable contemporary country house."

CURRENT BUILDING PROJECTS

• "Belle Cheval" & its "Yankee Barn Home" is on hold for the moment, unfortunately the GFC has altered things here for the time being.
• The residence on the winery property at Joadja is set for completion by Christmas. It's looking fantastic, so much detail, so much work and so rewarding. The photos in the New Year will be amazing.
• The contemporary residence on the dairy farm at Woodlands Rd should be completed early in the New Year. The mixture of external materials really suits the rural landscape, blending in to the surroundings perfectly. Looking forward to the end result.
• We are about to commence a detailed extension and renovation to a home in Burrawang. New contemporary kitchen, detailed bathrooms, landscaping and views that go right back to Bowral, this will be a very classy transformation.
• We are working at "Eden Park", a horse property in Robertson. Just completed a cute makeover of one of the cottages on the property. Currently working on what is known as the Gate House, then on to a fantastic Barn that will be transformed into a brilliant stables facility, matching machinery shed and more. This property will be transformed into something special, certainly another horse lover's dream.
